On The Grid
Have you ever looked at a drawing and wondered where in the world that image capturing event took place. Well now you can. Lorenzo’s drawing each have a grid reference that through the wonders of the internet will take a viewer to the location where he stood or sat when he captured the composition.
‘I’ve always loved maps, they have often been my escape from the pressures of work or the inspiration to travel. After years of working in the commercial design sector I’ve rediscovered the magic of drawing through traveling with other artists who value the very personal approach to recording an image.’
This body of work is the first completed with a full set of co ordinates and will bring a perspective to the viewer that although sometimes in a different time frame will undoubtedly change perceptions of the location and drawing process.
Lorenzo Madge has an MA in the visual Arts, he has produced many large scale projected works in public spaces. He has practiced as a designer internationally across a range of disciplines over the last 3 decades and currently has his own design practice while teaching design and visualisation part time in higher education.
