Sketching the sketches in natural pigments back at Kombisketchtour HQ!
After spending months outdoors capturing the seasons' changes through - sketches, notes, photographs and using materials directly from the environment, it's time to head back to HQ and develop the work. Charcoal, tea, turmeric, chalk and chilli powder have been used to attempt to capture some of the gorgeous colours of nature. What else is in the kitchen cupboard?
We have sourced some woad here in Lincolnshire and look forward to using its beautiful blue hue. From further afield we have been sent these gorgeous earthy pigments from France, they are wonderful to use, particularly if rubbed directly into the surface. Making our own dyes is on the list - we welcome any thoughts from folk who have already or are interested in doing this?!
